Putting the kids to work early.

A recent visit to Grandma and Poppy's saw the kids put to work on the 'farm' with no animals. Mowing and tree climbing were the main activities of the day, and the boys seemed to enjoy both.

Of course the motive was obviously to burn off some of their energy and I only wish I had a few trees here so that they could climb off some energy. Can't wait for school holidays to be over!!!

All Grown up ... with a school dance to go to.

We almost didn't make it, when I chose the wrong shoes for Connor to wear, but thankfully we compromised and off he went to his first ever school disco.

The $2.50 entry fee was a bargain and of course he needed some extra money for drinks and chips. Luckily I sent Mark along, wallet full and ready for some serious dancing. There would be no dancing with girls though, that goes without saying. In fact, I think a game of footy would have been much more appealing. But hey, you've gotta start somewhere and I'm sure he'll be fighting the girls off with a stick in years to come.

Kehan and Tabitha will get their chance later, but they were happy enough at home.

Cooking 101 ...... A lesson in food fun

A Saturday not renovating was exactly what we needed and the Out of the Box Festival provided the perfect excuse.

I booked the kids into a cooking workshop and it turned out to be even better than we expected.

Pizza was the first culinary delight for them to make and this consisted of rolling their own base and choosing from a range of toppings including cheese, olives, tomato, capsicum and mushrooms. Kehan went a bit nuts with the olives, but the end result was still quite tasty.

While the pizza was in the oven, the boys decorated their own cookie men with raisins and chocolate chips and then sat down to taste their handiwork.

After Cooking we decided to head over to Southbank for some more eating and a swim. The water was freezing, but the boys didn't seem to mind.
